INTRODUCTION
Waterproofing is the process of making an object or structure waterproof or water-resistant so that it remains relatively unaffected by water or resisting the ingress of water under specified conditions. Such items may be used in wet environments or underwater to specified depths.
How to waterproof swimming pools
The protection of buildings from the damages caused by water is very important for their “health”. It is also fundamental to waterproof the horizontal and vertical surfaces of swimming pools and pools in general (often made of reinforced concrete) so that the structures can remain waterproofed and perfectly efficient over time.
Install a waterproofing system in swimming pool.
- It’s highly recomment to use weberdry top.
- In case of swimming pool structure is strong enough and no vibration or no movement of structure, it’s recommend to use weberdry tex.
- Dampen the surface
- Apply two coats of weberdry tex onto the surfaces, the second coat has to be perpendicular to the first one.
- Allow the area to be completely dry for 4 – 7 days, depending on the temperature and humidity.
- The water-leakage test should be done by gradually add water in the pool with the rate of 70 cm high of water per 24 hours until getting the required water level.
- Leave the pool for 7 days and see if there is no water decrease, drain off the water and leave the pool to be dry before tiling.
- Allow the pool to be dry for at least 4 – 7 days, use specific tile adhesive for swimming pools for tiling (see more details on webertai gres or webercolor poxy).
- Allow the adhesive to be dry for 24 hours.
- Grout the area with specific tile grout for swimming pool (webercolor HR or webercolor poxy).
